Ashok Kumar was summoned for the first time by asking him to appear in person at the door of the perimeter wall where the construction work was going on. Amidst the search, Ashokumar's wife Nirmala was summoned to Ashok's house in Ramakrishnapuram area of Karur asking her to appear in person at the bungalow where the search is taking place along with the property documents. Following this, the enforcement officials went to the Karur Registrar's office and issued a notice. In that letter, it was mentioned that the properties of the bungalow house in the name of ashok Kumar's wife Nirmala have been frozen and the property should not be transferred, sold or otherwise dealt with without obtaining prior permission from the Joint director of Enforcement Department, Chennai.
As he did not appear after being sent the summons, the Enforcement Department sought to investigate ashok kumar to finish the case against minister Senthil balaji as soon as possible. minister Senthil balaji has already been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate and is in Puzhal Jail.
