Currently the party is gearing up for the upcoming municipal, parliament and state assembly elections, the maharashtra congress has
planned a series of campaigns over the next few months to capitalize on public goodwill, starting with a massive 'Lok
Samvad; padyatra.
Sources added the launch will be preceded by a grand felicitation ceremony for congress President rahul Gandhi,
which will be held on august 31 on the occasion of the third meeting of the opposition alliance 'India'. This event is
being organized as a celebration of the reinstatement of rahul Gandhi's membership of Parliament.
State party president Nana F. Patole told, 'We have planned a mega-reception for Gandhi. Welcome on all roads or
streets with party workers present in large numbers and a grand welcome at Tilak Bhawan, the party's state
headquarters in Dadar West.' Patole announced, "A clear message has come out that rahul Gandhi has fearlessly and
courageously exposed the affairs of prime minister Narendra Modi's bjp government, that is why they hatched a
conspiracy against him." This felicitation will mark the launch of 'Lok Samvad' series of padyatras in all regions and
districts from september 3 to 17 in the state, which will connect lakhs of workers and people from all walks of life.
'Congress will do padyatra in 6 areas of Maharashtra'
Nana F Patole said, 'During the 'Lok Samvad' consisting of a foot march and subsequent bus journey, we will expose the
'corruption and inefficiency' of the Bharatiya Janata Party's rule to the public. This campaign will be parallel to 'Bharat
Jodo Yatra-2.0' to be launched by Gandhi, but this time the yatra will not pass through Maharashtra. It will travel from
west to east, from gujarat to Meghalaya. He said district and regional leaders would organize 'padyatras' in six zones
covering the entire state. After this, a bus tour will be organized for the state, which will cover some remote areas and
reach the people there.
