Thousands of crores raised through alcohol tenders...


The telangana government has concluded the tender process for license of liquor shops on Friday. The Abkari Department has announced that 1,31,490 applications have been received for inviting tenders for a total of 2620 liquor shops across the state. Officials said that the revenue of Rs.2,629.80 crore has been collected through applications alone. Officials said that the revenue from liquor applications exceeded the government's expectations. 

New licenses from december 1

Telangana Abkari department has got huge revenue. Recently, the notification for the issuance of liquor shop licenses received huge number of applications. The applications started from 4th august and the deadline for applications ended on 18th. On the last day, a large number of aspirants queued up at the excise offices to apply. Officials said that 1,31,490 applications have been received. The Excise Department has issued a notification on the 3rd of this month to issue new licenses to 2,620 liquor shops across the state. On november 30, the current licences will become invalid. The newly issued licenses will come into effect from december 1 this year. More than 30 thousand applications were received on the last day on august 18. This process was undertaken for the selection of liquor shop licenses for the next two-year period (2023-25).
