Utpal Dutt, who made everyone laugh by playing the role of Bhavani shankar in the film Golmaal, released

during the year 1979, is still alive in the hearts of people. Born on 29 march 1929 in Barisal district of Bengal

(now part of Bangladesh), Utpal Dutt played many such characters in his career, which are still remembered

today. His performance was so powerful that in those days the government used to fear him. Utpal Dutt said

Entry in cinema was done like this

Utpal Dutt's early education took place in Shillong, after which he was sent to calcutta (now Kolkata) for

higher education. After studying english Literature at St. Xavier's College, kolkata, he joined bengali and

english theatre. Apart from this, his film journey also started. He played the role of Villain in Amitabh

Bachchan starrer film The Great Gambler and Inquilab. Talking about Utpal Dutt's films, the list includes

Golmaal, Naram-Garam, Michael, Madhusudan, Guddi, Rang Birangi and Shokeen etc.

Apart from acting, Utpal Dutt was also very active in politics. He used to target the government through his

films, which made the audience happy, but the government used to get angry. There were controversies on

many plays written by him. Due to this, during the year 1965, he also had to go to jail for several months.

However, after this in 1967, when the assembly elections were held in West Bengal, the congress had to face a

crushing defeat. It is said that the reason for the defeat of congress was the arrest of Utpal Dutt.
