At 3 p.m. on thursday at raj bhavan, BRS MLC Patnam Mahender reddy will be sworn in as a minister. The oaths of office and secrecy will be administered to him by governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. The Chief Minister's office has already informed raj bhavan about Mahender Reddy's appointment to the Cabinet.

For the second time, Mahender reddy will be in charge as a minister. In the initial telangana State Cabinet, he held the position of minister of Transportation. He served as a minister till 2018. But he lost in tandur in the most recent general election. Mahender reddy afterwards had the chance to hold the position of MLC for the combined Rangareddy district local bodies. He triumphed in june 2019 as MLC. From 1994 until 2014, Mahender reddy served as the tandur MLA. He was first elected in 1994.

Mahender reddy previously served as a minister in Telangana's first BRS administration from 2014 to 2018. This would be his second term in that position. He was elected as an mla from tandur in 1994, 1998, 2009, and 2014. However, Rohit reddy, a candidate for the congress who has since joined the BRS and been awarded the party's nomination to run from the same constituency in the next assembly elections, defeated him in the 2018 polls.
