Reportedly isro has said that all movements of Pragyan rover of Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft have been verified and the rover has successfully crossed a distance of about 8 meters. Pragyan rover of Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft has crossed 8 meters distance after landing on the moon, isro said. It has also confirmed that all the modules of the spacecraft are doing their jobs. In this regard, isro has posted on its official twitter page, "All the planned movements of the rover have been verified. The rover has successfully crossed a distance of about 8 meters. The payloads LIBS and APXS on the rover have been activated." It has been said. isro scientist Weeramuthuvel missed his sister's wedding because he was immersed in Chandrayaan-3 mission. indian Space Research Organization's Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft has been successfully launched to the moon. The vikram lander made a soft landing on august 23 at 6.04 pm. Following that yesterday (Thursday) the Pragyan rover landed on the moon from the lander.
Currently isro has been sharing new information by releasing pictures and videos taken on the moon from time to time. In the morning, the Pragyan rover released a video of the landing scene from the lander. A video of the lander sliding down a long ramp from the lander to the surface of the moon and touching down on the moon has gone viral on social media. It also said that if the ramp set up on the lander was a double lane, the rover would have landed smoothly without any problem.
Earlier isro also posted a video on twitter of the rover turning towards the sun as it descends. A six-wheeled rover is set to crawl on the moon and conduct research. For that, the rover has to generate electricity through solar panels. The video shows the rover turning towards the sun to facilitate solar power generation as it prepares to land. Also, isro said on twitter that a total of 26 deployment mechanisms will be used in the Chandrayaan-3 mission, developed by the UR Rao Satellite Center (URSC) in Bangalore.
