You may be familiar with giving sarees, jewellery, and other items as presents to moms, but a moon plot? In fact, a Godavarikhani-based nri woman did just that for her mother by investing in a land on the planet's natural satellite. On august 23, when the Chandrayaan-3 lander successfully touched down on the moon, the mother, Vakula Devi, received the land registration paperwork. Sai Vignatha, Vakula Devi's daughter, is currently a resident of the US and is a native of Godavarikhani's GM Colony. She is a project manager for the Iowa office of governor Kimberly Kay Reynolds.

She made the decision to give her mother, who worked hard to raise her, a special gift after discovering through her coworkers that registering for land on the moon could be done via a website related to the "International Lunar Registry" in New York. By investing Rs 35 lakh on Mother's Day in 2022, Vignatha submitted an application to the Lunar Registry for one acre on the moon in the names of both her mother and her daughter Artha.

On august 23, when Chandrayaan-3 safely touched down on the moon, Vignatha's family was overjoyed to learn that she had finished the registration procedure with the international Lunar Registry and had gotten her land documents. Vignatha, who is visiting for a month on vacation, gave her mother the present as a surprise. Suddala Ramachandram, her father, resides in GM Colony and works for the singareni Collieries Company.
