According to Transport minister Puvvada ajay Kumar, 545 telangana Kreeda Pranganams have been created in the khammam district, and sports equipment will soon be made accessible for athletes. The minister celebrated National sports Day at Sardar patel Stadium in this city on tuesday in honour of the great hockey player Major Dhyan Chand's birth anniversary.

In his remarks, he noted that the state government had prioritised sports and updated the sporting facilities. Three cutting-edge synthetic tennis courts and a hardwood basketball court were built at Sardar patel Stadium thanks to investments totaling Rs 5.11 crore. In a similar vein, Wyra Indoor Stadium cost Rs. 2.50 crore to construct, while Kallur Mini-stadium cost Rs. 3.40 crore. The Madhira Mini-Stadium cost 2.65 crore to build. ajay Kumar suggested that athletes make use of the facilities offered by the government to raise awareness of the area.

According to district Collector VP Gautham, there is a potential for athletes to win more medals if they do well in individual sports like gymnastics, wrestling, athletics, and archery. It is important for PETs in schools to pay attention to and acknowledge young children's talent. According to the Collector, khammam has a population of 16 lakh, which is equivalent to Jamaica's population. Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt excelled in athletics and took home several trophies. In khammam, athletes who have the potential to win gold at the world level must be produced.
