Two senior IAS officers of the Principal Secretary level were suspended in the case of dissolution of
Panchayats in Punjab. Due to which politics has now started in Punjab. Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram
Singh Majithia has cornered the bhagwant mann government. He said that the file of decision to dissolve
Panchayats was signed by chief minister bhagwant mann and panchayati raj Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar
himself. IAS officers have been made scapegoats.
‘The order to dissolve the panchayat was issued on august 10’
Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia further said that on august 7, cm Mann and panchayati raj Minister
Laljit Singh Bhullar had signed the file of the decision to dissolve the Panchayats of Punjab. On august 10, an
order was issued to dissolve 13241 panchayats of the state. Notification for dissolution of Panchayats was
issued even before the completion of the five-year term. The file on this issue was passed to the Director,
Panchayati raj and the Financial Commissioner, Development, forcing them to sign the files within two days,
after which both the panchayati raj Minister and the cm signed the file on the same day.
'Officials made scapegoat'
Bikram Singh Majithia said that the government is trying to make senior IAS officers scapegoats by
suspending them. The real culprits are the panchayati raj Minister and the chief minister, who backtracked
after the punjab and haryana High court made it clear that it was going to overturn the decision.
