As part of the campaign, he spoke to the professional degree students in puducherry and spoke about the development of india and the progress the country has made under the leadership of prime minister Modi. The minister said that till 2014, 90 percent of cell phones were imported from countries like USA and China, and mentioned that india has emerged as a major producer of mobile phones by 2023. In 2014, we did not export any mobile phone related products. But more than one lakh crore apple and samsung smartphones manufactured in india have been exported to countries like the US and japan in FY2022.
