Industries minister KT Rama Rao cited the underwhelming performance of bjp and Congress-ruled States in the electricity sector in claiming that telangana, which was formerly a power deficit State, has transformed into a power surplus State and led the nation in terms of highest per capita power consumption. The minister claimed that telangana was the finest example for the rest of india since it had accomplished all of this in a short period of time.

He pointed out that Madhya Pradesh's power deficit climbed by 16.6 million units while Gujarat's power deficit went up by 15.94 million units, according to infographics he shared on the performance of a few bjp and Congress- and BJP-ruled States in the electricity sector. Similar to this, rajasthan saw a growth in its power shortfall from 5.32 million units in 2022 to 13.37 million units.
