A survey conducted by two private organizations revealed that 95 percent of the city's population prefers to travel by metro train rather than traveling in their own (private) vehicle. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, B-PAC CEO revathi Ashok, Bangalore Political Action Committee (B-PAC) and World Resources Institute (WRI) india conducted a joint survey, many points have come to light.
3,855 people were surveyed across the city, especially on the Outer Ring Road. Out of this 1172 passengers use car and 1046 people use two-wheelers every day. 70% of people said that they would be willing to use public transport if there is good public transport from home to office. In addition, a private two-wheeler or car can cover a one-way journey of around 45 minutes to 1 hour. He said that it is known that the distance can be covered within 45 minutes if he goes by the same metro. srinivas Alavilli of WRI india said that if public transport is strengthened, the problem of traffic congestion will be solved. Whitefield will be well connected to other parts of the city by Metro. He said there will be a positive change by connecting feeder buses to the tech parks located on the purple route metro ring road.
He said that the people have said in the survey that the problem of first and last mile connectivity, the system of traveling by BMTC in a single ticket should come.
