The indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for hyderabad since the city is expected to experience severe to extremely heavy downpours of rain due to the State's active monsoon. hyderabad was placed on red alert during this year's monsoon for the first time. In the previous 26 hours, hyderabad has seen the highest rainfall of this Southwest monsoon, which has swamped numerous colonies in low-lying Rajendra nagar, kukatpally, and malkajgiri regions and severely disrupted daily life.
Due to the recent heavy rains, ghmc and EVDM personnel are on high alert and responding to situations around the country. Due to significant waterlogging on the highways, police were observing traffic on the Somajiguda-Paradise route.  Vehicle movement has slowed down from SR nagar PS, DK Road, Ameerpet Lal bungalow towards Green Lands, Necklace Rotary, and Khairatabad flyover towards Khairatabad X Roads as a result of the heavy traffic flow, water logging, and peak hours.

Although the rain was light until monday evening, it ramped up over the night and became heavier by early tuesday morning. As a result, a few places, including kukatpally and Serilingampally, received more than 5 cm of rain in a period of 1.30 hours. The residents of Kukatpally were shocked to see foam coming out as a result of pollution wastage from Pharma companies which are being dumped in the nearby lake.
