Reportedly when sonia gandhi wrote a letter to prime minister Modi, bjp has questioned why it is creating unnecessary controversy. It has been announced that the special session of parliament will be held from september 18 to 22. So far, the ruling bjp government has not announced the purpose of this meeting. Meanwhile, congress Parliamentary party President sonia gandhi has written a letter to prime minister Modi urging him to discuss issues of immediate importance in the special session of the parliament, based on the resolution passed at the meeting of the All india Alliance held yesterday under the leadership of congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge.
Meanwhile in the letter, 9 issues have been pointed out including rising prices of essential commodities, unemployment, farmers' demand including minimum support price, adani Group irregularities, Manipur issue, haryana communal tension, Chinese encroachment, caste wise enumeration, Centre-state relations and impact of natural calamities. In this situation, bjp has asked sonia gandhi why she is creating unnecessary controversy. Responding to Sonia's letter, Union Parliamentary Affairs minister Prakalat Joshi has questioned why she wants to create unnecessary controversy.
“It is very regrettable that the functioning of parliament, the temple of our democracy, is being politicized and creating unnecessary controversy where there is none. You are aware that the sittings of the parliament are held regularly following the constitutional mandate under Article 85 of the Constitution. The President shall convene each house of parliament from time to time at such time as he may think fit for sitting, provided that there shall not be an interval of 6 months between the date fixed for the last session of one session and the first session of the next session.” Pragalath Joshi has pointed out in his letter. Prakalat Joshi also said that the President has called for the special session of parliament to begin on september 18 only after the approval of the cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs following the complete procedure.
Perhaps you are not paying attention to conventions, he said, “Politics are not discussed in the parties before convening the parliamentary session; The issues discussed in the meeting are also not discussed. A meeting with all parties is held after the session begins.”
