Reportedly in hapur, Uttar Pradesh, a long strike by lawyers was witnessed after the lathi charge on the lawyers. After
which, after talking to the Chief Secretary in lucknow on september 14, the UP Bar Council decided to call off
the strike. At present, the lawyers strike is still going on at many places. Meanwhile, yogi government has taken a big decision regarding the security of lawyers.
Keeping in mind the interests of the lawyers, the yogi government of the state has constituted a three-member
high-level committee considering their demand for implementation of the Advocate Protection Act. In fact, the
Uttar Pradesh government has decided on tuesday to form a three-member committee to prepare the draft of
the Advocate Protection Act in the state. Formation of three-member committee
According to a statement issued by the state government, a three-member committee is being formed to draft
the Advocate Protection Act. The Principal Secretary of the Law Department will be made the chairman of this
committee. Apart from this, Additional director General (Prosecution) will be made its member. Along with
this, a representative of Uttar Pradesh Bar Council will also be included as a member. The Bar Council has been
requested to give the name of its member. After considering all the aspects, the committee will inform its
recommendations to the State Law Commission for further action. On august 29, the police had lathi charged
the lawyers in hapur district. Since then, advocate security law is being demanded by all the district bar
organizations across the state.
