Criminals submitted an application for enrollment on the election Commission's website along with a picture of Lord Ganesha and the addresses and phone numbers of strangers in an effort to establish a phoney voter. The incident happened in the Munugode constituency's Ghattuppal mandal, when a homemaker's phone number was discovered. She began receiving calls from representatives of the tax department asking about the photo.

Revenue inspectors discovered the application was fraudulent after visiting the applicant's provided residence. The mandal tahsildar denied the application on their advice. According to officials, the election commission provides a possibility for people to upload their personal information to register as voters online. They said that a miscreant took advantage of this by uploading a photo of Lord Ganesha, entering the Warangal-based businessman's wife's telephone number, and entering Kailasham in the Munugode constituency of nalgonda district as the address on Form 6.

The woman whose phone number was disclosed claimed she was astonished to get several calls from unidentified people, including revenue officers. "Unknown individuals registered as voters using my mobile number by uploading it to the election commission webpage. My mobile number had been posted, which put me in an unpleasant predicament. Additionally, I learned that the criminals had put my mobile number to their Aadhaar cards. I ask the authorities to act," she stated. The data was withdrawn from the portal, according to nalgonda revenue authorities, who also contacted senior officials for future action. district election authorities confirmed they will take the appropriate procedures.
