The backward classes, who make up more than 50% of the population overall, are crucial to telangana polls, and all the political parties have been developing their strategies to garner bc support in the next assembly elections in December. 130 separate backward class groupings, or around 52% of Telangana's total population, according to some estimates. The largest groupings among the backward classes are the Mudirajs, Gouds, and Pamdashalis, with respective populations of 30 lakhs, 29 lakhs, 20 lakhs, and 14 lakhs.

The 'BC vote' is so crucial in telangana that every political party makes sure, in addition to declaring sops, that the bulk of the tickets are also handed to bc leaders so they can win the support of the community. The telangana Pradesh congress Committee (TPCC) chief A revanth reddy has previously proposed allocating at least two seats in each of the 17 lok sabha segments to the bc leaders, for a total of 34 seats, while the ruling BRS has already announced 23 seats in the 119 assembly segments in telangana to members of the Backward Classes. However, the bc leaders have been requesting at least 50 members in the Congress. But in order to provide tickets to bc leaders, these parties are also considering the winnability aspect, among other things.

The bjp is seeking to push the narrative of bc leadership at the apex of the party, led by none other than prime minister Narendra Modi, in addition to allocating a sizable number of seats to bc politicians. There are now 21 MLAs from backward classes in telangana, and congress allocated around 24 seats to backward classes in the most recent elections in 2018. This time, congress is under a lot of pressure. "We will undoubtedly give backward classes and BRS more seats than BRS. Soon, the candidates will be revealed in stages, according to revanth Reddy.

About 32 seats were allocated to backward classes by the congress in 2014. According to the population, Telangana's backward classes need to have at least 64 MLAs. But sadly, the big political parties don't give us that many seats. To combat this, a statute reserving seats for BCs in legislative bodies along the lines of SCs and STs should be passed. The Centre ought to introduce such legislation in the legislature. The lives of the lower classes would not improve without adequate representation of BCs in the legislative bodies. According to R Krishnaiah, president of the National Backward Class Welfare Association and a member of the Rajya Sabha, any political party in telangana should allocate seats to BCs according to the population.

Thirty-one of Telangana's 119 assembly seats are set aside for SCs and STs. In addition to allocating seats to BCs, BRS has scheduled Atma Gaurava Sabhas in each district's administrative center to show bc voters how various social programs over the past ten years have improved their lives and provided benefits to them. A few months ago, the chief minister, K. chandrasekhar Rao, introduced a program for BCs. The program offers various bc groups monetary support of Rs 1 lakh to be used for tool purchases so they may continue doing their traditional vocations. If elected to office, the bjp will allocate a budget commensurate to their people, according to a bc Declaration that was made public in May.
In addition, the bjp had pledged to give the bc Commission statutory stature and first dibs on appointed positions.
