After the Ganesh celebrations, the city had to be returned to its regular state, which required the assistance of more than 10,000 sanitation employees and about 5,000 from other departments. Cutting branches along the path of the immersion procession was one of the responsibilities, along with building fake ponds, moving cranes, and eventually clearing the debris.
Officials from the ghmc report that this year, 91, 154 idols were submerged in six zones and about 8,424 tonnes of rubbish were removed. The creation of 74 man-made ponds by the local authorities allowed them to prevent the immersion of many idols in them. On the day of the immersion, the sanitation crew continually cleaned the roads while working in three shifts, paying particular attention to the congested areas of Charminar, Begum Bazar, MJ Market, Abids, Basheerbagh, and Liberty Crossroads. They received praise from their followers for their meticulous efforts.

Before the event started, the largest problem for ghmc administrators was to limit the usage of PoP idols. According to a top ghmc official, "All concerned departments were planning for two months in order to ensure a successful immersion." Stay tuned for more updates.
