Today it is important to focus more on industry and take initiative in the value chain of turmeric from production to export. We see the need for turmeric farmers. and future prospects, the Center has decided to set up a National Yellow Board," PM Modi said at a meeting in the state's Mahabubnagar. Speaking further, he said that telangana farmers produce a lot of turmeric especially. Nizamabad, nirmal and Jagdyal districts are famous for turmeric cultivation. From here finger and bulb type turmeric is exported not only for domestic and commercial needs but also abroad.
 
Apart from turmeric, there are tablets including tea, coffee, masala, jute and coconut. These boards help farmers market their produce and take care of their other needs,” he said. On the eve of elections in telangana, prime minister Narendra Modi today laid foundation stones for several development projects worth over ₹ 13,500 crore in key sectors like roads, railways, petroleum and natural gas and higher education.
 
During the event, the prime minister flagged off the hyderabad (Kachiguda) - Raichur - hyderabad (Kachiguda) train service from krishna station through video conferencing. This train service will connect hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabhubnagar and Narayanpet districts in telangana with Raichur district in Karnataka. The service will provide rail connectivity for the first time to several new areas in the backward districts of Mahabhupnagar and Narayanpet, benefiting students, daily commuters, laborers and the local handloom industry in the region.
The prime minister laid foundation stones for major road projects as part of the Nagpur-Vijayawada Economic Corridor. The projects include - 108 km long 'Four Lane Access Controlled Greenfield Highway from warangal to khammam Section of NH-163G' and 90 km long 'Four Lane Access Controlled Greenfield Highway from khammam to vijayawada of NH-163G.
 
These road projects will be developed at a total cost of ₹ 6400 crore. With these projects, the travel distance between warangal and Kammam will be about 14 km. and about 27 km between khammam and Vijayawada. Speaking then, he said, "The season of festivals has begun. navratri is about to begin.
