Waris punjab De chief Amritpal Singh and his associates are lodged in Dibrugarh Jail in Assam. Amritpal Singh and his

associates were arrested under the National Security Act (NSA). Now Amritpal Singh’s mother Balwinder Kaur has

requested the central government to shift her son to a jail in Punjab. He says that the family members have to face a lot of

challenges in meeting Amritpal Singh and his associates lodged in Dibrugarh jail.

Balwinder Kaur also said that the prisoners in jail have been deprived of the right to meet their lawyers. Kaur said that

Amritpal Singh and his associates were not being allowed to meet their lawyers. Because of this he has been forced to sit

on hunger strike in jail. He said that Amritpal Singh’s sister-in-law and 7-year-old niece had also gone to Dibrugarh jail to

meet him, but they too were not allowed to meet him. After six hours of trying, they returned without finding him.

Raise demand for release of Amritpal and his associates

Balwinder Kaur asked all the Sikh groups to gather below nishan Sahib and raise the demand for the release of Amritpal

Singh and his comrades. Khalsa Waheer will be taken out on 15th october by Damdami Taksal Sangrawan Group. In this,

the procession will start from Damdama Sahib and gather at Khadoor Sahib Tarn Taran. Regarding this, Balwinder Kaur has

to say that the groups should raise their voice for his release even during Khalsa Wahir. On the other hand, ram Singh,

head of Sangrawan faction of Damdami Taksal, also strongly condemned the Sikh prisoners not being allowed to meet

lawyers, calling it a violation of human rights.
