Residents of Gandi Maisamma, which is within the jurisdiction of Dundigal police, staged a demonstration calling for the rapid enlargement of a tiny road that, in their estimation, had caused 18 fatal accidents and left 10 people crippled. They said that their objections about the situation were disregarded. "My wife was killed in an accident on that narrow road six months ago," Pagadala Ramesh told india Herald.

"I used to be so independent, but now I have to rely on others to perform even simple tasks," said Rajeswari, who lost her leg in an accident. I wish someone had heeded our cries," the woman stated. "I am unable to play with my kids any longer. This wheelchair is the only way I can get about it. We merely want to make sure that everyone in the community is secure and are not asking for any particular consideration. Our wounds are not simply physical; they are also psychological. Another sufferer remarked, "Every time I pass those roads, it serves as a sad reminder of what I've lost.

Six deaths have been reported in the area this year, according to Dundigal inspector Y. Rama Krishna, who also recognised the gravity of the situation. He committed to working with the appropriate authorities to ensure that the road widening project is given top priority.
