After a 23-year-old lady committed suicide at a hostess on friday night, protests broke out in this area of Ashoknagar. Marri Pravalika, a resident of Warangal, was purportedly studying for her Group-II examinations in this hostel. After pravallika committed suicide, several students and young people staged a protest in Ashoknagar, claiming that she was upset over the cancellation of the Group-II examinations and had taken her own life.

Pravallika allegedly wrote a suicide letter in which she begged her mother's forgiveness for being powerless to stop her. The event occurred within the Gandhinagar police boundaries, and when the police arrived in Ashoknagar, demonstrations broke out in the middle of the night, drawing a sizable contingent of students and group exam candidates. Due to the assembly elections set for november of next year, the TSPSC Group II tests were recently delayed. The tests have been rescheduled for january 6 and 7, 2024. The dates of these tests were set for november 2 and 3.

The exam dates coincided with the election notice dates, therefore a reschedule was required. The administration would be occupied with organizing the elections. More than 5.5 lakh candidates have enrolled to sit the TSPSC test, which will be used to fill 783 group-II job vacancies. The test date has been delayed, according to the Commission, since the election notification date falls on the same day as the examination, and because election-related activities would occupy the vital administrative machinery. The TSPSC announced 783 Group-II openings in total, and 5,51,943 individuals applied.
