congress has not yet fielded any candidates on the four other seats declared by Samajwadi Party. But if Congress

sources are to be believed, a fierce battle is going on between two to three candidates on these seats. The names of

these candidates will also be decided in the next list.

Why couldn't a compromise be reached?

In the indian Express report, madhya pradesh Samajwadi party Chief Ramayan Singh patel said on SP's alliance with

congress, With the congress list, all possibilities of alliance between the two parties have ended. Ramayan Singh Patel

further said, It is true that we had some talks with the congress leadership, but all this ended as soon as the list was

released on Sunday. We will compete on the seats ourselves and will perform well in the elections next year also.

According to the same report of indian Express, a senior leader considered close to akhilesh yadav has also expressed

his displeasure with Congress. The SP leader made big allegations against congress and said that congress does not want

bjp to lose. He said that our party (Samajwadi Party) had held talks with the congress leadership before releasing the list

of candidates, but it seems that the congress is not interested in forming an alliance to defeat the Bharatiya Janata

Party. It seems that his aim is not to defeat bjp but Samajwadi Party. He further said that even though we will have an

alliance for the lok sabha elections, we will contest alone in the madhya pradesh assembly elections. We talked to the

congress leadership and told them that we want 10 seats. But they offered less seats. Then they suddenly announced so

many candidates without even informing us. Coalitions don't work like this.
