The government has issued an order banning the use of chemically-laden turmeric, saffron and lime and putting colored rangolis in Ayudha Puja during Dussehra. The state government has issued an order banning the use of chemical dyes, turmeric, kumkum and lime etc. inside pumpkins and rangoli that are broken during Ayudha Puja on Nadhabba Dasara. Ayudha puja is a very important puja in the Nada festival of Dussehra. It is our tradition to break a pumpkin and put turmeric, saffron, lime and other colors in it. Putting rangoli is also our tradition and the government has imposed a ban on putting colored rangoli. A huge level of opposition has also been expressed by bjp leaders to this. Prohibition of use of turmeric and kumkum wherever: Use of chemically mixed paints inside offices and corridors during Ayudha Puja in Vidhana Soudha Vikasasoudha multistoried buildings is harmful. In addition, this chemical paint can fall on the floor and stay on the floor for months. This affects the beauty of Vidhana Soudha, Vikas Soudha and floors of multi-storied buildings. In this regard, even though many circulars have been issued in previous lines, it is regrettable that these instructions have not been followed in some departments/branches.

Therefore, since Vidhana Soudha, Vikasasoudha and multi-storied buildings are heritage buildings, it is hereby informed that during the month of october 2023, while performing Ayudha Puja, no chemical mixed paint/Kumkum/Ithina/lime and other materials should be used in pumpkins and rangolis in the corridors inside the office. Further, it is suggested to turn off the lights and electrical switches before leaving the office on Puja day. It is suggested to dispose the waste material systematically without throwing it everywhere. It is the duty of every officer/employee to maintain the beauty of the heritage buildings and it is advisable to develop a mindset of voluntary compliance with the above mentioned instructions. However, it is hereby informed that in case of non-response, the responsibility will inevitably be fixed on the concerned department/branch.
