Dabur products cause cancer..? 5,400 cases..!?

India's leading Ayurvedic and FMCG company, Dabur, has filed various lawsuits against 3 branches of Dabur in the US and canada for causing ovarian cancer and uterine cancer through the use of its hair products. Various lawsuits have been filed in the united states and canada against Dabur's subsidiaries Namaste Labs LLC ("Namaste"), Dermoviva Skin Essentials Inc. ("Dermoviva"), and Dabur international Limited ("DINTL"). In a statement submitted by Dabur Company to the stock market, all the cases that have been filed are from the initial stages of discovery. At present, around 5,400 cases have been filed in the MDL category against Namaste, Dermoviva, and Dabur international directly and jointly with other companies. As these allegations are based on baseless and incomplete research, Dabur Group affiliates have completely denied these allegations. It also informed that a Bar Council has been formed to deal with the cases. Meanwhile, the US Food and Drug Administration has proposed banning some hair straightening products containing formaldehyde. They are linked to hormone-related cancers and can cause long-term health effects, Fox business reported Tuesday. The US Food and Drug Administration is planning a wholesale ban on hair straightening products containing formaldehyde and methylene glycol, a formaldehyde chemical. The main reason for this is that these hair straightening products contain carcinogenic chemicals that can be dangerous to humans. In a study conducted by the US National Institutes of health among 33,500 women, the results of the study show that women who use hair straightening products a lot have twice the risk of uterine cancer and thus have problems with childbirth. About 60 percent of American women who participated in the study used hair straightening products.
