delhi high court rejected the petition of aam aadmi party (AAP) leader and rajya sabha mp Sanjay Singh

challenging his remand and arrest in the alleged liquor scam case. Earlier, ED had opposed in the high court on

Thursday the petition of AAP mp sanjay singh challenging his arrest in a money laundering case related to

delhi Excise Policy. Additional Solicitor General sv Raju, appearing for the ED, said AAP Rajya Sabha

member sanjay singh was arrested in due compliance with the law and his plea, which is a bail application in

the guise of a writ petition, is maintainable. Not there. Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma, after hearing both the

sides, had reserved the order on Sanjay Singh’s petition. After this the petition was rejected on Friday.

ED had arrested on october 4

sanjay singh was arrested by ED on october 4. He had challenged his arrest in the high court last week. The

allegations are that sanjay singh played a key role in the formulation and implementation of the now defunct

excise policy, which led to financial gains for some liquor manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers.

ED has become entertainment department

sanjay singh had said in a delhi court last friday that the Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED has become the

Entertainment Department. During the hearing, sanjay singh said that ED did not take action on his complaint


against Adani. On this, the judge directed him not to discuss such matters or give speeches inside the court,

otherwise he would ask for his appearance through video. The AAP leader also argued that during his detention,

the ED did not even ask him questions related to the case.
