Reportedly the issue of maratha reservation in maharashtra is as important as the caste census before the general elections

in the country. Just a few days ago, activist Manoj Jarange, who brought the issue of maratha reservation to the

centre, had told cm Eknath Shinde that if the state government fails to give quota in government jobs and

education to the people of maratha community by 24 october, then it will They will resume their hunger strike

from october and this time either their funeral procession will take place or the community’s victory (after

getting reservation) will be celebrated.

After this statement of Manoj Jarange, on october 19, the body of maratha reservation activist sunil Kawale

was found hanging from a light pole on the side of a flyover in Bandra area of Mumbai. He had left a suicide

note, in which there was, a demand to give reservation to the maratha community.

Both these incidents have once again brought into discussion the demand for reservation of the Maratha

community in the state. maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde said in a statement on Sunday, The

maharashtra government is trying its best to provide reservation to the maratha community within the ambit of

law. Shinde has also urged the youth of maratha community not to take steps like suicide. Speaking to reporters

at a Navratri-related event at Bhawani Chowk here, Shinde said that before taking such steps, think about your

parents, family, relatives, children and friends.
