Social media users have started posting images of Pepsi's new product design—which they believe is the company's statement of sympathy with Palestine—on social media in response to the boycott of US goods for aiding israel in the continuing conflict with Hamas. A widely circulated image on social media sites featured an Arabic spelling of the word "Palestine" along with patterns that reflected the drink's Palestinian roots.

"Pepsi has modified its product's design to feature Palestinian culture," according to the caption on the widely shared photo, but Pepsi Co. has not made any formal claims regarding this. The facebook account wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital Alfaaz is credited with creating and sharing the first viral photo. The photo was captioned, "Pepsi Gaza introduces new designs to its products, showcasing Palestinian culture and heritage."
However after some research, we discovered that the picture is not brand-new; on august 16, 2023, the facebook page Dragon Studios posted the product's design as a part of a promotion known as the "Pepsi Taste Challenge."

In recognition of the 58 percent of Palestinian consumers who preferred Pepsi flavor, the multinational corporation at the time introduced two of its products with a new look: "Pepsi Cola" and "Pepsi Max."

Users of X took to the platform to vent their rage, implore others not to fall for this trick, and carry on the product boycott.

You better be kidding, said one person. It is not enough to just place a Palestinian graphic on a Pepsi can and hope that people will
purchase it. Pepsico continues to support and fund Israel. Don't be duped by it. I continue to abstain.

"In order to circumvent the boycott, the Israeli manufacturer PEPSI altered the design and added the word Palestine. Avoid falling for this trick. One more person wrote, "Continue the boycott of the COKE and PEPSI brands."

Here are some of the reactions
