around 22 percent.
government prepared new roster of reservation
Nitish government has prepared a new roster for reservation. This roster has also been approved by the
Bihar Cabinet. In Bihar, a provision has been made to give 20 percent reservation to 19.7 percent Dalits.
Till now there is a provision of 16 percent reservation for Dalits in Bihar. There has also been talk of
increasing reservation for tribals. Now tribals will get 2 percent reservation in Bihar. The number of tribals
is 1.7. The government has also decided to increase EBC reservation. According to the government, now
36 percent reservation will be given to extremely backward classes. Earlier it was 18 percent. The
population of this class in the state is 36 percent. It has now been said that 27 percent reservation will be
given to the backward classes. Earlier it was 12 percent. The government has decided not to abolish the 10
percent reservation given to the general category. Overall, preparations are now being made to implement
75 percent reservation system in Bihar.
