Ashoknagar collector and district election Officer can be removed from the post after an adverse comment by
Madhya Pradesh High Court. madhya pradesh high court, while hearing the petition regarding irregularities in
Bamori panchayat elections of Tikamgarh district, has held 4 officials including the then collector Subhash
Dwivedi guilty. In his order dated 8 november 2023, high court Justice vivek Aggarwal also said that election
duty should not be imposed on these officers in future.
It is noteworthy that after the order of madhya pradesh high court, the State election commission has written a
letter to GAD seeking information about the guilty officers. It has been said in the high court order that these
officers and employees had deliberately tampered with the election process. Following the court order, the
Election Commission has become active in removing Ashok nagar collector Subhash Dwivedi from the post of
election irregularities. Three other guilty officers, Joint collector, Tehsildar and teacher will also be removed.
Collector accused of irregularities
The high court has clarified in its order that during the panchayat elections in Tikamgarh, the then District
Election Officer posted i.e. present Ashoknagar collector collector Subhash Dwivedi, Deputy district Election
Officer and presently Additional collector of Anuppur CP Patel, the then Tehsildar and presently Deputy
Collector. The role of Dindori rk Tiwari and assistant teacher Hiralal Rajput has been flawed in this case.
