2018 diwali (Uttarakhand): Modi celebrated diwali in Harsil, Uttarakhand, when he surprised the military with a visit. The famous kedarnath Dham was visited after this.


Diwali 2019 (Rajouri, J&K): Modi met the staff in Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir, the next year.

Diwali 2020 (Longewala): In 2020, Modi paid a visit to the Rajasthani border station of Longewala. In a statement, he was cited as adding that diwali is only full when he is with the warriors, whether they are in the desert or the snow-covered mountains.

Diwali 2021 (Nowshera, Kashmir): In Nowshera, Jammu and Kashmir, Modi observed the festival of lights in 2021. "Not as prime minister, but as a member of their family, I'm extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to adore diwali with our brave soldiers in Nowshera," the PM wrote, sharing images from the exchange.

Diwali 2022 (Kargil): In honor of the army members who died in the 1999 Kargil conflict, Modi celebrated diwali with the soldiers at Kargil last year. In his talk to the soldiers, Modi emphasized that while india is opposed to violence, it still needs strength to maintain peace. He also claimed that as India's might grows, the likelihood of world peace and prosperity increases.
