As per report the court has banned O. Panneer Selvam from using AIADMK name and double leaf symbol etc., the OPS petition which has appealed against this is coming up for hearing today. Due to a single leadership conflict in the AIADMK, there was a conflict between Edappadi Palaniswami and O. Panneer Selvam. After this, the post of General Secretary was again created in the General Committee meeting. Edappadi Palaniswami was appointed as the General Secretary. O. Panneer Selvam, who started a legal battle against this, was expelled from the party.
After this, the case was heard in the high court and the supreme court, and the verdict came in favor of Edappadi Palaniswami. Even then O. Panneer Selvam was using the party flag and symbol claiming to be AIADMK coordinator. Edappadi Palaniswami had filed a case against this in the madras High Court. Judge Satish Kumar, who heard this petition,
Pointing out that the madras high court has refused to ban the decision to remove him from the party, he ordered on the 7th to temporarily ban Panneerselvam from using AIADMK's name, flag, symbol and letterhead. Shocked by this, OPS did not use the party flag on his car. He then appealed against this order in a two-judge bench. He requested to take it as an urgent case.
Following this, this case is coming up for hearing this morning. It seems that arguments will be presented in court on behalf of O. Panneer Selvam's side and Edappadi Palaniswami's side. After this, it is expected that the verdict will be released in a couple of days whether O. Panneer Selvam can use the party flag or whether the ban will go ahead.
