Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains has once again got extension in service. Due to the

implementation of the election code of conduct in the state, this time not the government but the Election

Commission has given him one month’s extension. This is his third extension and now he can continue on

the post of Chief Secretary of madhya pradesh till next month. He was scheduled to retire on november 30

before being given extension in service by the election Commission. Earlier, the government had also given

extension to Iqbal Singh Bains twice for 6 months each, but it was believed that this time because the

election code of conduct is in force in the state, the government would not be able to give him extension.

However, the election commission has also decided to keep him as the Chief Secretary of Madhya Pradesh

for a month.

Counting of votes on 3rd December, retirement on 30th November

If experts are to be believed, the election Commission's intention behind keeping Iqbal Singh Bains as the

Chief Secretary of madhya pradesh might have been regarding the upcoming vote counting. Actually, Bains

was to retire on 30th november and counting of votes in the state is to take place on 3rd December, so

keeping this in mind that he can do his job properly in the counting of votes, the election commission has

given him an extension of one month.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains is a 1985 batch IAS officer. He was to retire last year i.e.

on 30th november 2022, but on 29th november, just a day before his retirement, the government extended

his tenure by 6 months by giving him extension. After completion of this time, assembly elections were

about to come in the state, in such a situation he was again given extension of 6 months. Now once again i.e.

for the third time he has got extension in service.
