Veteran bjp leader and former cm uma bharti has called the murder of a Patwari by the sand mafia in Shahdol
district of madhya pradesh as a stigma on governance. Giving a sharp reaction to this incident, uma bharti has
demanded strict action against the criminals. PCC Chief and former chief minister Kamal Nath has also said
that this situation has arisen due to corruption and scams that flourished during the Shivraj government in the
state.
On the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday, at Gopalpur Ghat of Son River in Beohari of Shahdol district,
Patwari prasanna Singh, who had come to stop illegal mining, was killed by sand mafia by running over him
with a tractor. He died on the spot. Acting on the information of the remaining three Patwaris who ran away
from the spot, the police have arrested the accused tractor driver Shubham Vishwakarma and tractor owner
Narayan Singh from village Maihar's Kuan (station Ramnagar). Along with this, three other tractors have also
been seized. Which belongs to Pawan Singh and Sonu Singh, residents of Maihar.
SP Kumar Prateek said that a case has been registered against the accused under sections 302, 379 IPC and 4/21
Mineral Act and Motor Vehicle Act. The investigation of the case is ongoing. On Sunday, the body of Patwari
Prasanna Singh was taken to Bansagar Hospital, where after post-mortem the body was sent to his home village
Rewa.
