According to sources bjp candidate KVR reddy has surprisingly defeated chief minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao and congress Chief Ministerial candidate revanth reddy in kamareddy constituency of Telangana. bjp candidate KVR reddy has surprisingly defeated chief minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao and congress Chief Ministerial candidate revanth reddy in kamareddy constituency of Telangana. There was a tug of war between kcr and revanth reddy ever since the counting of votes began. But by the time of the results, bjp candidate Katipalli Venkataramana reddy, who suddenly emerged as the third power, won by 7 thousand votes. Thus, the incumbent chief minister and the Chief Ministerial candidate of the majority party have lost here. kamareddy assembly constituency is also an important constituency in nizamabad district as it is a mixed urban and rural constituency.
Meanwhile Chandrasekhara Rao-led regional party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (formerly telangana Rashtra Samithi), which has been in power since the formation of telangana state in 2014, has suffered defeat this time. With this, another regional party in the country is cornered. He was going to form a Rashtriya party with the objective of creating a third front as an alternative to the BJP-led nda and the india Alliance of Opposition parties. He had changed the name of the erstwhile telangana rashtra samithi (TRS) to National Level Dream Group (BRS).
However, voters felt that Chandrashekar Rao, who had set out to build a national party, was ignoring the interests of telangana, which is said to be the main reason for BRS's defeat. It has been proved once again that if regional parties turn to national politics ignoring the interests of the state, the voters will abandon them. chandrasekhar Rao's dream of a hat-trick cm title has been dashed by the defeat of the BRS party in the telangana assembly elections. Along with this, kcr lost the opportunity to equal the record of tamil Nadu's MG Ramachandran who had a hat-trick cm record in South indian states.
Since the birth of telangana state in 2014, chandrasekhar Rao has been in power as the chief minister for 9 consecutive years. In tamil Nadu M.G. Ramachandran ruled as chief minister for 3 consecutive times in a period of 10 years from 1977 to 1987. Along with this, the record of being the only person of South india to take oath as chief minister 3 times in a row will remain with mgr for a long time.
Hyderabad/Jaipur: After a huge defeat, telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has resigned. Atta rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot also went to the governor and submitted his resignation. The governor accepted the resignations of the two leaders. After the congress won a clear majority in the state of telangana, activists gathered in front of congress President revanth Reddy's residence and celebrated. They celebrated by shouting 'Revanth Anna Zindabad' and lighting firecrackers. In the evening, potential chief minister revanth reddy came to gandhi bhavan in hyderabad and participated in the celebrations and thanked the activists. congress lost in 3 states and won only in Telangana. Thus the celebration was confined to telangana only. Elsewhere, silence prevailed at the AICC headquarters in Delhi.
The election commission has ordered the suspension of telangana Director General of police (DGP) Anjani Kumar for allegedly meeting congress leader revanth reddy and offering a bouquet while the counting of votes for the assembly elections was going on in telangana, sources said.
DGP Anjani Kumar along with state police nodal officer Sanjay Jain and nodal officer Mahesh Bhagwat met state congress president and candidate Anumula Revant reddy at his residence in hyderabad on Sunday, even before the counting of votes was completed. The commission said it was a violation of the code of conduct. No government official can meet political leaders while counting of votes and code of conduct is in force.
