Waris punjab De chief Amritpal Singh is serving his sentence in Dibragarh jail in Assam. Amritpal and his
associates were arrested under the National Security Act. He is also lodged in the same jail along with Amritpal.
A bail petition was filed in the punjab and haryana high court on behalf of Amritpal’s associate Sarabjit Singh
Kalsi. While canceling which the high court has commented that the Constitution of india gives everyone the
right to security but this right is not final. It can also be limited to protect the rights of other people to freedom.
In such a situation, bail cannot be granted right now.
High court rejects Kalsi’s bail plea
In the petition filed on behalf of Sarabjit Singh Kalsi, it has also been said that the FIR registered against him in
the case of attack on Ajnala police station is in column 2. Whereas the police have not yet arrested him in this
case. Yet he has been kept in Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act. It has been said in the petition that
the police should interrogate him in the case of attack on Ajnala police station. On which the high court said
that the punjab police has arrested him under NSA and sent him to Dibrugarh jail. So there are many reasons
behind this. After this the high court rejected the bail plea of Kalsi.
Amritpal was arrested after 36 days
Let us tell you that when the police went to arrest Amritpal Singh in the Ajnala violence case, he dodged the
police and escaped. police also launched a search operation in other states including punjab in search of
Amritpal. After which 36 days later, punjab police arrested Amritpal from the Gurudwara of Rode village in
Moga district.
