BJP legislature party in rajasthan has chosen its leader. 56 year old Bhajan Lal Sharma of Sanganer will be the
new chief minister of Rajasthan. bharatiya janata party has played a big bet on the Brahmin face. In the last 33
years, no Brahmin face has ever been made the chief minister or Deputy chief minister in Rajasthan. The last
time a Brahmin face in rajasthan was Hardev Joshi was the chief minister from congress in 1990. Hardev Joshi
used to be mla from Banswara. Since his tenure as chief minister, bjp and congress have been continuously
betting on OBC and kshatriya faces. For this reason, Brahmin voters kept going to bjp and then to Congress.
Last time, congress had played a big gamble by making CP Joshi the assembly Speaker, but that gamble failed
this time.
Effect of Brahmin seats
There are directly 50 assembly seats in rajasthan which are influenced by Brahmin voters. While congress had
fielded 16 candidates, this time bharatiya janata party had fielded 20 candidates. Out of these, a large number of
Brahmin candidates of bjp won the elections while Brahmin candidates of congress got a big defeat.
Ram temple and Brahmin face
In rajasthan, bharatiya janata party has made ram temple an issue this time and has bet on the Brahmin face.
Bhajanlal Sharma, who won the election from Sanganer assembly seat of Jaipur, is a native of Bharatpur. bjp had
made CP Joshi the president as a Brahmin face. The result was that in Mewar, Marwar and Dhundhaar, Brahmins
made bjp win the elections on more seats. In view of the lok sabha elections, bjp has played this big gamble.
