Revenue of Rs.192 crores has been earned in a single day which is a new record in tamilnadu registration department collection.
During the auspicious days when document registrations are high, additional reservation tokens are usually allotted for document registration in Sub-Registrar Offices in response to public demand. It was expected that yesterday (14.12.23) which is considered to be an auspicious day, will see more bond registrations. Therefore, the registry was directed to issue additional reservation tokens.
Accordingly, offices with one representative were given 150 reservation tokens instead of 100, and offices with two representatives were given 300 reservation tokens instead of 200. Similarly, 150 normal reservation tokens instead of 100 for 100 offices where more document registrations are done, in addition to the 12 tatkal reservation tokens already issued, four tatkal reservation tokens were issued by the registry department for public use.
In this situation, a new record in the collection of tamil Nadu Registration Department has been Rs 192 crores earned in a single day. It has been reported that this amount of revenue has been generated in a single day due to the additional token being issued. In this regard, in a press release issued by the Secretary of Commercial Taxes and Registration Department, "Additional tokens have been issued due to high expectation of registration of documents on 14.12.2023 in sub-registries in the Registration Department. As on 14.12.2023, 22,060 documents were registered and the government received Rs 192 crore as revenue. Yesterday's revenue was the highest ever in a single day in the registration department this financial year.”
