Edappadi Palanichamy appealed to the people of tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, tenkasi and Kanyakumari districts to take immediate relief measures. Edappadi Palaniswami said that the normal life of the people has been severely affected by the heavy rains that have been falling since the day before yesterday in the four districts of tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, tenkasi and Kanyakumari due to atmospheric circulation. In his statement in this regard,

Heavy rains have filled all the rivers, dams and water bodies in the four districts and flood water has entered the inhabited areas. Babanasam, Servalaru and Manimuthar dams, which are not yet full, have reached their full capacity due to the rains that fell in one day yesterday and the flood water is being discharged. Reports suggest that water from dams and floodwaters are engulfing all areas, leaving people stranded and public transport severely affected.

According to the Meteorological Department, at least 25 cm of rain has been received in all the four districts. In particular, Tuticorin district, Kayalpatnam received the highest rainfall of 96 cm as of 10 am today. It has rained and most places received 25 to 50 cm. The indian Meteorological Department has also reported that it has rained till.

The indian Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for very heavy rains as the atmospheric circulation continues over the Kumari sea and its adjoining areas, due to which the South and Delta districts are expected to experience very heavy rains with winds of up to 40 km per hour. Highest level in tirunelveli district in 150 years. Nellie district Collector said that rain has been reported and due to heavy rain. Reports suggest that the office has been submerged and the government is taking steps to shift the control room to another location.

Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu and Tiruvallur districts received heavy rains last week due to Cyclone 'Miqjam'. However, due to the fact that the DMK government did not take any precautionary measures, the relief assistance of the government to the people of this district was immediate for 2 to 3 days of rain.

That should not happen now, because of this heavy rain. More camps should be set up to accommodate the affected people, and those who are staying in the camps and those affected by the floods. Immediate food, clothes, blankets, rice, groceries along with milk, drinking water, bread etc. for all the people who are unable to leave their places.

I urge the DMK government to provide relief aid like food items, medical aid etc. on a wartime basis to the people. Instead of waiting for the relief to come, I request the administrators of the various organizations to immediately provide relief aid such as food, clothes, blankets, milk, bread and drinking water to the people affected by the heavy rains. While providing such relief assistance, overcrowding should be avoided as much as possible,

I request all the brothers and sisters of Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam to provide relief to all the affected people. Due to the continuous heavy rains, instead of indiscriminately affecting the people like what happened in Chennai, using the experience of senior indian government officials and police officers, plan and plan the damaged roads, communications and relief work quickly. I urge this government to implement. Edappadi Palaniswami also requested the public to be careful and cautious during heavy rains.
