Prime minister Narendra Modi reached tiruchirappalli in tamil Nadu on tuesday to attend the 38th Convocation Ceremony of Bharathidasan university and lay foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than Rs 19,850 crore. He was welcomed by chief minister MK stalin on arrival. The prime minister is on a two-day visit to tamil Nadu and lakshadweep on january 2 and 3 during which he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects, an official statement released by the Prime Minister’s office said on Sunday. PM Modi reached tiruchirappalli in tamil Nadu on tuesday and attended the 38th Convocation Ceremony of Bharathidasan university as the chief guest of the event.

Following this, the prime minister also inaugurated the new terminal of Trichy Airport. He was accompanied by Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scinda. PM Modi is set to lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than Rs 19,850 crore related to aviation, rail, road, oil and gas, shipping and higher education sectors. On january 3, PM Modi will reach Kavaratti in lakshadweep, where he will lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects in lakshadweep related to sectors such as telecommunications, drinking water, solar power and health.
