Lakshadweep is number one in google search after PM Modi's visit. India's tourism business has suffered a lot since 2020 due to the corona virus. In this context, prime minister Narendra Modi on his X page asked people to visit the Tulip Garden located at the foothills of the Jabarwan range in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. As a result, the kashmir Valley is flooded with tourists. Following this, prime minister Modi has widened his vision regarding tourism in the beginning of 2024 as well. Accordingly, prime minister Modi, who visited lakshadweep the day before yesterday, shared the photos on social media and requested people to come to Lakshadweep. As a result, lakshadweep is consistently at the top of google search.

The prime minister went snorkeling during his visit to Lakshadweep. Snorkeling is a method of swimming in the sea with a tube in your mouth and breathing. Also, walked on the beautiful beach sand. He was sitting quietly. He had shared these photos on his social media pages. Those pictures went viral. Due to this, many people are collecting information about lakshadweep on Google. The number of tourists in lakshadweep is expected to increase in the coming times.

Lakshadweep is one of the most beautiful places in india with calm beaches, clear sea water, white sand, friendly people and preserved nature. However, tourist arrivals to lakshadweep are low. Travel restrictions, lengthy paperwork and lack of information are cited as reasons for this. In 2022, only one lakh foreign tourists have come to Lakshadweep. Domestic tourists are also less likely to go there.

But, this is the number of tourists in Maldives. When it comes to tourist attractions, there are many similarities between lakshadweep and Maldives. Both the places have sparkling sea water, white sandy beaches and coral reefs in abundance. However, many indians visit maldives instead of Lakshadweep.

More than 2.91 lakh indians visited maldives in 2021 and more than 2.41 lakh in 2022. 1,00,915 indian tourists visited maldives till june 13, 2023. Accordingly, india is a major contributor to the tourism sector of the Maldives. However, the Maldivian government has been dealing with animosity towards india for some time now. This has raised concerns about India's national security. Maldives' new government is pro-China. After taking office, Maldivian President Muisu traveled first to turkey and then to China. turkey and china are seen as working against India's interests.

It is against this backdrop that prime minister Modi's visit to lakshadweep and his appeal to go there. If many go to lakshadweep on the Prime Minister's invitation, it will be a direct loss for Maldives. The economy of the maldives is heavily dependent on tourism. Due to the decrease in the number of tourists, there will be a huge loss. It is worth noting that lakshadweep tourism is much cheaper than maldives tourism.
