Congress president mallikarjun Kharge on tuesday responded to the continuous conciliatory pressures with maldives over offensive comments against Top state leader narendra modi saying the last option thinks about everything 'literally' after he came to control in 2014.

"After narendra modi came to control, he is thinking about everything literally. At the worldwide level, we ought to keep a decent connection with our neighbours...We ought to act as indicated by time...We can't change our neighbours..." news organization ANI cited Kharge as saying.

In addition, the party's president pleaded for friendly relations with neighboring nations.

Sharad Pawar, the leader of the nationalist congress party (NCP), however, voiced support for PM Modi and criticized the derogatory remarks. He stated that such remarks would not be tolerated and that one should respect the prime minister's position.
