Sangrur resident Anil Kumar Tayal has said through the petition filed against Arora that in 2013, the supreme court has clearly stated in one of its orders that if a court sentences a public representative to 2 or more years of imprisonment, then he has been booked under the Representation of the people Act. It has been further said on behalf of the petitioner that on 21 december 2023, minister Aman Arora was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment by the Sangrur court after finding him guilty under various sections of the IPC. After which Aman Arora should have been disqualified, but this has not been done yet. A demand letter in this regard was also given on 26 December.

The petitioner has also demanded from Aman Arora to stop the flag hoisting. The high court will hear this petition on Monday.
