Reservation movement has started once again in Rajasthan. From today, the Jat community of Bharatpur and Dholpur have started a massive protest in Jaicholi village of Uchain police station area of Bharatpur demanding reservation for OBCs in the centre. Even before the lok sabha elections, the Jats of Bharatpur, Dholpur in rajasthan have started a massive protest from today near Jaicholi railway station, about 300 meters from the Mumbai-Delhi railway track, to demand reservation in the OBC category at the Centre. Convenor of Jat Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, Nem Singh has warned and announced that this time it is our fight from side to side. If our demands are not met, the railway route and roads will soon be blocked. Arrangements have been made for the agitators to have food and shelter from the cold in Jaicholi village, the site of the Mahapadav.
police force deployed
In view of the Jat movement, a large number of police forces have been deployed on the spot. Apart from this, Railway police Force has been deployed on the Mumbai-Delhi railway route. Nem Singh Faujdar, convenor of Bharatpur-Dholpur Jat Reservation Sangharsh Committee, said, "The demand for reservation for the Jats of Bharatpur and Dholpur district at the Center is very old. Mahapadav has been started from today but there will be no possibility of blocking railway routes and national highways at any time. The society can take the decision. Right now our movement is going on peacefully but if the government does not listen, anything can happen."
Demand for reservation has been going on since 1998
Nem Singh Faujdar said that this demand for reservation has been being made since 1998. In the year 2013, the manmohan singh government at the Center had given reservation to the Jats of 9 states along with Bharatpur-Dholpur districts, but when the bjp government was formed at the Center in 2014, with the help of the supreme Court, on august 10, 2015, Bharatpur became the center of Dholpur Jats and OBC reservation was abolished in the state. After fighting a long battle, on 23 august 2017, Jats of both the districts in the state were given reservation in OBC, but our demand for reservation in OBC at the center has been continuing since then.
