DRTO to showcase women empowerment, indigenous manufacturing technologies at Republic Day Parade 2024 "Many important systems and technologies developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) will be showcased at the 75th Republic Day Parade on january 26 along the Line of Duty," it said.
As an organization under the Self-Reliance india Programme, the valuable contribution of DRTO's women scientists in key areas of defense research is noteworthy. The DRTO parade vehicle has been developed based on the theme of 'Women power in protecting the nation by providing a security shield in all 5 dimensions - land, air, sea, cyberspace and space'.
Women's involvement in defense research and development will be prominently highlighted in the parade. It is reported that eminent scientist Sunitha Devi Jena will be the commander of this unit.
How did Republic Day come about? Why was january 26 chosen?
Small manned anti-tank missile, anti-satellite missile and Agni-5, surface-to-surface nuclear missile, very short-range air defense system, short-range naval anti-ship missile, 'Helena' anti-cannon missile, Astra, light combat Aircraft - 'Tejas', advanced electronic warfare system - 'Shakti', cyber security systems, command and control systems, semiconductor fabrication facility etc. will be featured in the DRTO parade vehicle.
Republic Day celebrations are celebrated in delhi every year on 26th January. The President will hoist the tricolor along with the National Anthem and 21 gunshots will be fired at the delhi Rajpath. After that, the parade of the three armies will take place. Weapons and aircraft used in the indian Army will also participate in the parade to show the country's pride.
On the occasion of the Republic Day celebrations, a procession of vehicles representing various states, union territories, cultures and activities of ministries will take place at the Rajpath in delhi on that day.
