Due to the political environment created after the inauguration of ram Temple, mamata banerjee fears that in West bengal too, there may be polarization of votes to some extent in the name of Hindu-Muslim. If this happens, bjp will benefit from it and TMC may have to suffer a big loss in West Bengal. In such a situation, it was important for mamata banerjee to give a message to the people of the state that her focus is the fight for West bengal and not the fight for the Congress-led Centre. The situation of congress in West bengal is very pathetic. In the last decade, not only has the Congress's support base reduced in West bengal, but there is also a dilemma among the people of the state regarding the image of the Congress. Fighting elections in coordination with congress clearly means that due to the negative image that has been created about congress in the last few years among a large section of the state, trinamool congress may also have to suffer the consequences in the upcoming elections.
There is a large number of voters in West bengal who are not against mamata banerjee, but they are not at all ready to vote for Congress. If mamata banerjee had not kept distance from congress, bjp could have got the support of a large section of such voters. This could clearly create a possibility of loss for trinamool congress in the entire state.
bjp should not get lead in West Bengal!
Similarly, bjp has become a big challenge against mamata banerjee in West Bengal. In a way, bjp had made the contest in West bengal equal in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In that election, mamata Banerjee's party had won only 22 seats, while BJP's tally stood at 18. In contrast, in 2014, mamata Banerjee's party had won 34 seats and BJP's figure was only two. After this election, with great difficulty, mamata banerjee was successful in curbing the influence of bjp in the Legislative assembly elections, 2021. Then proving all the estimates wrong, trinamool congress gave its best performance and won 215 seats and BJP's train stopped at 77 seats. However, this performance was praiseworthy for bjp because it had gone from three to 77 assembly seats in 2021 as compared to 2016.
