Parasuraman was given a Vaidilingam seat to contest the thanjavur constituency in the 2014 parliamentary elections. He surprised everyone by defeating DR Balu, one of DMK's seniors.


Former thanjavur mp Parasuraman (63) passed away today due to ill health. His sudden demise has caused a great shock among the DMK.


Parasuraman hails from Rahman nagar area under Nilgiri panchayat of thanjavur district. He joined AIADMK in 1985. Since then, he has been elected as the president of the panchayat Council for 3 consecutive times since 2001. He was an ardent supporter of Vaidilingam. Because of this, Parasuraman was given a Vaidilingam seat to contest the thanjavur constituency in the 2014 parliamentary elections. He surprised everyone by defeating DR Balu, one of DMK's seniors.


Subsequently, in 2019, when he asked for an opportunity to contest again in the AIADMK, it was said that Vaithilingam's role in allocating the thanjavur constituency to Tamaka was high. Following this, Parasuraman had asked for an opportunity to contest the thanjavur constituency in the last assembly elections. But, at the last moment, Ududai Nambi was given a chance.

Due to this, he stayed away from field work during the election. Due to this he became dissatisfied with Vaidyalingam. Following this, he left AIADMK and joined DMK after praising chief minister M.K.Stalin. In this case, the former mp was admitted to chennai Apollo Hospital due to poor health. Parasuraman died today after the treatment failed. DMK and other executives are condoling his death.
