As per report Rajya Sabha elections are to be held before the lok sabha elections. This is being described as the litmus test of the lok sabha elections. elections are to be held for 56 rajya sabha seats in different states, regarding which the election commission has issued a notification. These 56 seats also include five seats in madhya pradesh, out of which four are held by bjp and one by Congress. Meanwhile, there is discussion that congress can make either ajay Maken or Arun Yadav the rajya sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh.
Currently there is discussion in political circles that congress can send ajay Maken or Arun Yadav to rajya sabha from Madhya Pradesh. bharatiya janata party has formed the government in madhya pradesh with an overwhelming majority and has secured 163 seats out of 230. Whereas congress has been reduced to 66 seats. If we talk about voting in rajya sabha, congress will be able to get only one seat. Now a round of discussions has started regarding this. Meanwhile, the name of former Union minister and former State President Arun Yadav is at the forefront among the possible names. Along with this, ajay Maken's name is also coming up.
Moreover there are 11 rajya sabha seats in madhya pradesh, out of which bjp holds eight seats and congress holds three. The tenure of the rajya sabha members elected on 5 of these 11 seats is ending on 2 april 2024. The MPs from the rajya sabha seats falling vacant in the state are currently BJP's ajay Pratap Singh and Kailash Soni, who are also from the state. Whereas, dharmendra pradhan and L Murugan are members from outside the state. Whereas, Rajmani patel is from Congress.
