indore city zoo is no longer just a zoo, but has also become a state of the art breeding center for wild animals. The zoo management has proved this by doing excellent work in breeding the animals of the zoo. After the success of the breeding process, the number of animals and birds in the zoo is increasing. Besides, the Animal Exchange Program has also helped in bringing rare animals from other zoos, due to which the number of tourists coming to indore from entire madhya pradesh has increased.
Animals from other countries in the zoo
Giving information, Zoo in-charge Dr. Uttam Yadav said that in the last few months, the average number of tourists has increased by 30 percent. A major reason for this is the 245 exotic birds of more than 80 species brought to the zoo under the Animal Exchange Programme, along with other animals, tigers of other species, cubs and small creatures. The total number of wild animals in the zoo has now reached 1300. Cotton top monkey, hair python, rhino iguana, red lory, rainbow lory have also been included in the zoo as new wild animals. These animals are found in South Africa, Australia, Indonesia, brazil and other such countries.
Recognition as a breeding center
Dr. Uttam Yadav said that with the zoo making its mark as a breeding centre, visitors are now getting to see many species of wild animals, which are not available in other zoos. Due to this, the number of visitors coming from other cities has also increased. The number of spectators reaches above 12 thousand during holidays from saturday and Sunday. On an average, more than four and a half thousand spectators come here every day.
