The Amalapuram lok sabha seat in Dr. BR Ambedkar's Konaseema district is currently shrouded in uncertainty regarding the candidate nominations from major political parties. Speculation surrounds the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu congress Party (YSRCP), where sitting mp Chinta Anuradha's candidacy for the upcoming election remains uncertain.

The opposition telugu desam party (TDP) has a historical presence in this constituency, with GMC Balayogi winning consecutively. However, discussions suggest that only Balayogi's son might be considered for the candidacy, possibly as an MLA. Adding a twist to the electoral dynamics, former Amalapuram mp GV Harsha Kumar has announced his intention to contest in the next election.

He revealed this decision based on a social media survey indicating approximately 79% favorability towards his candidacy in Amalapuram. Harsha Kumar, who previously contested on the congress ticket, emerged victorious in both the 2004 and 2009 elections with substantial vote margins exceeding 40,000.

Despite the state's bifurcation, Harsha Kumar continued his political pursuits, contesting in 2014 under the banner of the "Jai Samaikhyandra Party" led by kiran kumar Reddy after parting ways with the Congress. However, this attempt proved less successful as he garnered only 9,931 votes. Undeterred, Harsha Kumar is contemplating a return to the electoral arena in the upcoming 2024 elections, injecting a new dimension into the unfolding political landscape of Amalapuram.
